Going to give my front skirt a rub down and spray tomorrow night due to a bit of bubbling and rust spots. Any advice as i have never done it before.

What grade wet and dry to rub down with?

Do i primer?

Do i put a lacquer over the top?

Any tips on the flatting back and blending in process?

I am going to use a couple of rattle cans from halfords in the colour of the car, have seen the colour before and i know they are a good match. Cheers, paul.

Start with a wire brush first, that will take off any loose bits, then go on to the wet and dry. Start with a course grade first, flat it off ans see where you are rust wise. as you are going to paint it don't be afraid to have a bit of a scratch with a flat blade screwdriver. Before you apply any paint, think about some kind of rust treatment to hold it off. Apply some primer, then rub it down again with a finer grade of wet and dry, running your finger tips over the surface to see if there are any really high or low spots. Remember primer is porous so even if it's not an exact match it might be an idea to put some top coat paint on it until you know what you want to do with the paint generally.

Try Loctite rust remover just brusk it on and wait. Changes composition from to a hard surface. Used it on my car and had no problems so far. There is nothing like repairing a panel and having it rust again in the same spot.

hi paul. ideally aerosol is to thin for decent coverage but if needs must make shaw you give it plenty of coats ( dry before next) . also if your spraying up to the bumper height or any lower for that matter fine wet and dry further up than you spray ,dont spray over gloss finish paint as this wont polish in so well and it wont grip unless it has a "key". to lose over sprayed edges fine flat with at least 1200 grit and the cut back (polish) with g3 cutting compound  . other than than sell me your wagon cheap and buy mine
