hello noodles, nice to see you chasing up your parts. think stu's black two door is bang on what your'll be getting. . looks perfect to me! oh and you wont need blooming expensive tyres to do it . see ya saturday, i'll be round to carry on with the tiny bit of body work before paint .

i love banded steels and want some done at the mo. anyone got a number of a good and resonably priced place? wouldn't want wide-wheel doing them as far to pricey imo, and bad reports of them on retro-rides. all elce fails i'll do my own.
-
looks so cool, i love this fez

guy who had it is on here but new (budsowana) and has taken it all the way back to yorkshire. i'm on the hunt for a 1300 4 door mk 2 escort now. with a young family i need something more practical. really seams to be a shortage of desent cars about for sale at the mo. if an escort dosnt turn up i may go for a mk1 fiesta,... supersport would be cool but think thats a tad optomistic. at the minute i'm with out a car at all so sooner the better. .
-
my escorts just been collected by its new owner. . totally gutted watching it driving off up the road . good luck to dave and i hope he enjoys rwd ownership . now on the hunt for a budget replacment.
-
i love the current yellow mex but my fav has to be the original guize of the orange car in white with orange details. this is for shaw my idea car.
-

a box wont cost much mate, £20 and a mornings work will sort it. years ago i had a 1300 xflow mk 2 and did 2 boxes in a month. . i did use to drive it like a plonker tho . if your total stuck ive got a known good box. car looks good, dont give up -
???? 5.4 rs diff is a 3.54 for shaw. 5.4 would be hill climb/rally fodder only. oh and unless your incredable lucky its not an atlas axle so no diff cover to remove just the whole diff.
-
hi paul. ideally aerosol is to thin for decent coverage but if needs must make shaw you give it plenty of coats ( dry before next) . also if your spraying up to the bumper height or any lower for that matter fine wet and dry further up than you spray ,dont spray over gloss finish paint as this wont polish in so well and it wont grip unless it has a "key". to lose over sprayed edges fine flat with at least 1200 grit and the cut back (polish) with g3 cutting compound . other than than sell me your wagon cheap and buy mine

gone off mayonase in ya rock box only get smoke when it blown to a cylinder but then you know that . think ive blown head gaskets every way pos. water ways, oil ways out the sides and mostly between cylinders.
-
diff is normally a 3.9 or 3.89 (near as dam it the same) in mk2 1.6 but if it was auto i think come with 4.1. diff choice really comes down to what you use car for, hard fast driving 4.1,bit of both 3.9 and more motorway 3.5. other diffs are 3.7 and then 4.4 and going much lower but only really use for full race.
-
forgot to say, tyre size makes a massive difference, i'm on 175/50/13's and this is almost as much of a change as running a 4.1 diff when compared to 185/60's give or take.
-
3.5 is the tallest, 3.9 will be a big anprovment tho. smaller the number the lest turns to pinion. my wagon has a 3.9 and tops out at about 115 mph with 5 speed box. . that will be tat over a ton on 4 speed.
-
head gasket blown, white = water, blue=oil, and black is fuel . . oh and brown is rust
-
if you've got a tag on mate it will be on the lower bolts and will more than likely have 3.54 on it. 3.9 is more lively for a single carbed pinto and not terrible on long trips.
-
if your unlucky enough not to still have the tag on your diff bolt then your'll have to count the teeth or turns. carb your thinking of is a 38 dgas from a 3ltr capri
-
think these were built some time ago and used for hire and corprate type days. my local track (ringwood) did this too with 1300 stockcar mk2's. . they ended sitting round for ages and more than likely scrapped. remember these are likely to have been built over ten years ago when they were picked up for peanuts. still a shame tho, they should get some use
-
thanks for the pic and kind comment mate your tina looked sweet too, wheels, rubber and slammed
-
excellent! must be my fav car of the weekend. nice one
-
few of last years pics. now lower with detailed engine bay and mex front. . oh and a decent gearbox. [
