Your opinions on this car please as to whether it has been reshelled or not??

 

I dont want to annoy anyone with whether this is original or not, but I only ask as I have a friend who has the money to buy this now but doesnt want to pay daft money for a reshelled car.

 

It states that it is genuine mexico with v5 logbook to show this, but I cannot see the strenghtening plates under the engine bay strut brace to show this to be the case, or the stamp plates which are out of view.

 

As I said, I dont want to bang heads with anyone as to my accusation that this looks reshelled, but with a few genuine avo cars being sold as that because the V5 says so, even though they have been reshelled with non type 49 shells etc etc...

 

Anyhow, i am waffling. thanks for any replies

Hiyah mate,would a call to the AVO owners club be a good idea! Seem to recognise the plate,was'nt RWC a Ford recce car or something plate? Good luck on that one though Luke,lovely looking motor!

i"d say its probably a member of the forums by the OSF graphics so someone might recognise it mate...

I went and viewed this and didnt like it...

 

It is a re shell, doesnt have the studs in the boot, it looks great from a distance but the paint has ben shovelled on thickly and I would be cautious of whats underneath it...

 

A guy called Dale used to own it on here and sold it for far less than is being asked, the current bloke that owns it seemed to be very confused as to when he bought it and who he bought it off, he also has had it for sale since february...

Seen this on ebay quite a few times . when it was up for auction it only ever got up to between £5 to £6k with out meeting the reserve and the ebay market tends to find the level at which people feel a car is worth for £7995 the car should have no ??? as to its condition / originality

Thanks for the advice. I was a bit cautious because of the text saying 100percent genuine AVO car on the logbook but no pics to show any of the AVO fitted parts...... and I was adamant I couldnt see strengthening plates on the top struts but was scared of saying this in case it was my eyes or sommet:)

 

Saved someone a lot of money people. cheers. will hold out for the next one:)
