  1. Have just bought a new pair of Bucket seats and need a little advice on sub-frames to fit em They have the slider adjusters already fitted to the base of the seat but need a sub-frame to get em up off the floor so i can see over the dash I have looked at various sub-frames advertised for bottom mount seats and some look right dodgy !! Have also found some brackets that bolt to the base of the seat and enable you to use side mount brackets to then bolt to the floor which look a lot safer but if anyone has experience with this can you help please
  2. Dazza this is my GT !! A good friend of mine bought one of these models on ebay and rang me to say the reg was same as mine. I thought he was joking till i brought one ,took it out the box , and could'nt believe they had used my car. Your model looks the dogs mate ,real credit to you

  4. I'm so sorry to hear that this meet is no more Steve. My Kids loved jumping in the GT with me to go along to the Ashford Diner, especially when the weather was good. I must admit i did'nt go to every meet you organised but the ones we did were pretty good turnouts, albeit the crappy weather ones, well done anyway Steve. Just a shame we did'nt give this meet the turnout it deserved.

He has just started college, doing a Mechanic's course, and is saving hard for his first taste of OSF ownership, preferably a MK 3 Capri. Well done Tom see you on the driveway matey when i next get in the DOODOO!!!!!!!

  11. Hope it's OK to put this in Chit Chat? The rad in my GT went awol a few weeks ago on my way to the Ashford diner meet and i took it to Bryan & son in Tunbridge Wells,he repaired it for me many years ago and did a fantastic job but it sprung a leak from a joint on the big header tank. Gave him a bell, took it down there next day ,he repaired GT rad & also checked out a Mk2 escort rad for me while i waited for £30 which i thought was well reasonable. Top top bloke, real Old Skool workshop down an alleyway between some shops. His address is Bryan & Son,165a Camden Road,Tunbridge Wells,Kent,TN1 2RG open from 8.30-6.00pm tel number 01892 544635 He also repairs heaters too! Really recommend this chap for quality service and price

  16. As everybody seems to be swaying to red Lee how about Boyd Red(as in Coddington), on Quest TV Channel at the moment they are doing a 55/56? Chevy in this colour with White inbetween the Chrome mouldings. The Red looks the NUTS cos there are no brown tinges in it just a real vivid Red colour!!
  17. Looks like your gonna need to spend some time reinforcing your trophy cabinet shelves 1st Andy!!
  18. My thoughts exactly!
  19. Was a bit bored this afternoon so i thought i'd start cleaning up these Cosmic alloys i've had in stock (in my shed) for a few years. Bought them off a colleague when i worked at Haynes of Maidstone, apparently they were on a 105E in the early 70's but the car was sold on and the wheels were left in an outbuilding for me to discover over 30 years later ! Clocked them a few times when i went rooting about for old stock in this shed but saw the yellow label on the outside of the rim that said "fits Anglia 105E,Corsair ,Classic,Cortina,Escort Twin Cam and Hillman models ie Avenger etc ,also that they were 6 J's as-well and thought to myself i've gotta have em even if i don't use em!! They were in a right state but i could see the potential and paid the princely sum of £15 for 4!! Started off washing em down then dryed them off and started buffing with Autosol and wire wool took me about an hour and have still got a bit more work to do till i'm happy like painting the centre's black to freshen them up and a little more buffing. Don't know what the other 3 are gonna be like but if they come up half as good as the 1st one i'll be well chuffed!!
  20. Many Happy returns for today Andy From all the Chapman Posse!!
  21. Personally mate Nooooooooooooooo!!! They say it's a cobra head but to me it looks more like an Egyptian style painting with dreadlocks! sorry mate
  22. I just can't believe it!!!!!! I used to work for Haynes and have been up close and personal to this stunning car. This is as it was when it came off the RAC Rally when John Taylor won in it. Has been kept at Haynes in a makeshift sort of Museum come storage shed for many years alongside many other Classic Fords but was a NO GO'ER,as in she was'nt running. I used to pester a couple of the blokes who were on the Rally Team at Haynes to get her going so we could go out for a spin in her but it always fell on deaf ears. David Haynes who ran and owned Haynes of Maidstone died a year or so back and now his son Andrew has taken the reins over must be having a clear out!!!! As my Brother Daggle said earlier they used to put her in the showroom from time to time and we always went down there to drool over it. I'm shocked, totally totally shocked !!
  23. My first car was a Yellow 4 door MK2,it was'nt a V reg GL was it Biggles? I'd love that back, many happy days spent in that car!!
  24. No worries
