  1. Has a date been set yet for the next OSF meet at Ashford Diner(i hope i have'nt missed it some where on here!!) I'm hoping to trundle down for my 1st meet out in the GT! If i can sort out the dynamo teething prob i'm having at the mo(it's been taken apart and cleaned up but is still spitting it's dummy out & not playing ball) Trying to get my Bro,DAGGLE to sort out the Anglebox so we can have a jolly boys outing down there together as it's been more years than i care to remember when we both had old skool Fords to go ANYWHERE in that look bloody cool!!! It will be good to meet some of you who gave me some really good feed back when the GT was almost there and the insentive to blat on & finish it I've probably bumped in to a couple of people at the Ashford Diner meets when introduced to me by DAGGLE but without the GT being there it just does'nt feel like the old days when you turn up in a VENGA BUS(Ford Galaxy)loaded with 2 kid's & the misses Roll on warmer weather & the chance to cruise about to new meets
  2. has anybody else seen it or heard about it yet! Cos it's a wicked bit of kit.It looks like a dynamo but has the alternator bits inside it's body so the concours mob can keep it real in the originality stakes but have all the benifits of an alternator!! It's a little pricey as it starts at £298 for the 1st type & then goes up to £328 for the third type they do,all plus the dreaded vat.The NEW RALLY DESIGN catalouge is out now & i have been using them for a few years now on my old MK2 RS2000,MK5 RS2000 & now my MK1 Cortina GT for spares and have found them to be very helpfull

  4. Cheers everyone who commented on her.I'm working on her now to get her ready for the Ashford diner meet tonight as she's spat her dummy out as is running like a SWAMP DONKEY at the mo!! We think/hope it's crap in the fuel line otherwise i'll be taking my Galaxy to the Diner instead! keep ur fingers and legs crossed people,C u later
  5. Hi all after 5 years my GT had its MOT today & only failed on the handbrake cable not having a proper support on the gearbox mount!! I've put a request on parts wanted for this part,it has a slide/pivot on the gearbox mounting so the cable can pull up equally on both rear brakes, which at the mo it does'nt Hopefully getting it sorted before the next OSF meet at Ashford Diner this Sat !! Big RESPECT to Kevin Robinson at K.R MOTORSPORT for the final finishing jobs that i was struggling with Hope to meet some of you there on Sat night as a crowd of us from the South East branch of The MK 1 Cortina Owners are cruising down there My bro DAGGLE beat me to the 1st drive of her as he moved the GT a short distance across a yard back to Kev's(the little tinker!) Hopefully have some good news tomorrow?
  6. Hiyah Ratman,no i'm good thanks on the 17's,love the LOTUS steels tooo much! Daggle's told me you've put LOTUS steels on your GT now? Why the change mate? I'm a little bit of a purist on wheels on OLD SKOOL FORDS,they've gotta look the part on the right vehicle,i can't wait to see some pic's of your GT with the most PUKKA set of steels ever know to a Ford ANORAK!!
  7. Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to all of your reply's but i've just managed to get five min's to myself! Thank you all for your great feedback, it really has been a bliming hard five years of set backs, cashflow(as i expect a lot of you have this at times?)and numerous other things too many to list but you lot have made me even more determined to see it through to the end Can't wait to get around to the local meet's and other show's & meeting up with all of you Cheers Bro for what you wrote,i got a bit emotional reading it dude, just hurry up and get your ANGLEBOX done See all of you soon
  8. just had to let you all know that on Sat eve at 9.45 my step dad and i got my GT to finally fire up after FIVE long years into her full on resto! After sorting out the timing & setting up the tappets ,as the engine was seen to by a mate of mine(MK1 DELUXE)new gaskets, core plugs etc,we connected the battery and after a few tweaks she burst into life and sounded fecking AWESOME on just the 4 branch manifold I've never driven the GT since the day i bought her 5 years ago and we don't think she's had an engine in her that has run since 1996 ! I've just got the brakes to overhaul & the wiring is being sorted this weekend by a friend of mine from the MK 1 CORTINA owners club who i must give a lot of thanks for 4 welding her up and spraying her black cherry, the best decision i ever made!,although Kev would'nt say so cos he hated the colour(never mind a !!) Hopefully wont be long before i'm cruising along in her to all the OLD SCHOOL FORDS meets down Ashford Diner and shows up and down the country as i've been dreaming about this since we trailered her sorry broken ass back to Maidstone from Norfolk all those years ago!!! Hopefully get to meet some of the Sarf East lot soon and make more ANORAK friends along the way.C u all soon
  9. Thanks for that boys,i luv you lot loads too! Bro(DAGGLE)your only jealous cos i'm a GT driving(almost!!!)SUPER STUD MUFFIN !!!!
  10. Luckily its only happened to me twice over nearly twenty years of driving, the second time i heard the alarm go off while i was in a friends house and i burst out of his front door to see them getting back out of the car and leg it up the road they did'nt nick anything as i must have been like a ferret up a drainpipe as the alarm went off to see them, this was in broad daylight on a quite respectable estate.I'ts jealously mate try not to let it get to you ,i know it's bloody hard not to but don't let the B*~:'[;.,S Summers nearly here mate, just think of the cruising time your be missing out on if u go down for G B H ???
  11. Anybody been in the same boat as my Bro, DAGGLE & i when fitting Supaflex bushes on the anti-tramp bars of a MK1 CORTINA GT.After spending a good 5 and a half hours of swearing and losing many many brain cells thinking of ways to make the rear axle line back up after having to bend the welded brackets on the axle & the body to 1st of all make the anti-tramp bars fit,as the bushes stick out a couple of millimetres more than the original FORD metalastic bushes on either side of the bar I've always used Supaflex and rate their product as 1st class as i've used them before on my MK2 Escort RS2000 & my MK5 RS2000 and they did exactly what they said on the packet!! We just had major problems getting everything to line up,the rear shackle's,shock absorbers, prop shaft & spring hangers inc the lowering blocks and u-bolts were taken off to complete our mission!!! The whole car has the Supaflex bushes fitted to it and the other area which caused a bit of a problem was the pitman arm and the idler arm to the centre link polybush conversion(WAKE UP THERE AT THE BACK!!!! I rang Supaflex and was told not to cut the bushes in half to make them fit in the centrelink but my Step-father ,who is a mechanic, had to as they could not be pressed into place, then we had to physically wind the bolts into place in the bush. Its all good now cos its effing tight, feels good
