72mk1escort Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 As above do they fit and if so whats involved my car is a 1972 mk1 escort 1100L If anyone has done this or knows how to do it any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks
Rick Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 to be honest mate you might find it sits way to high and is too stiff a ride. prob best just saving for the coilovers if you can
72mk1escort Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 Would 1.3 MK1 Escort estate legs and a servo be okay for what im running (1.3 crossflow with twin weber and ashley exhaust)?
tim Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 why you wana add a servo for? direct pedal gives a more positive feel. get some 2.8 billes with lowering springs will do the job for the suspeion fine, coil are for race and rally cars. to get them to fit,you need a mk2 escort rack with metric tie rods
emu Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 You should be able to bolt capri struts straight into a mk1 escort, they already have the correct taper on the track rod ends. See how it sits before you buy any lowering springs. Didnt 2.8i's sit lower than a normal capri anyway? I have 2.8 struts with (i believe) standard springs on my mk2 and it sits the same as it did with escort struts and -2" springs.
72mk1escort Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 So i need to find any legs off of a 2.8 capri (will they all fit?) or only some?
