will it pass mot?

hi,does your car need a ignition key(barrel/steering column lock) type to pass its mot or can it just have a starter switch?as mine is buggered and i thought it might be easier to bin the barrel then theres just yhe other 99 things to do...

Should be okay on a switch. My mates Prefect was set up like that and he had no troubles!

I think your kinda asking for someone to nick it stick with the ignition switch and barrel if it means its safe

yeah it is a bit of a risk without the lock,the barrels jammed at the mo and i need to move the car,i could fit a cut off switch somewhere after. cheers for your advice.
