so after a week in sunny somerset drinking as much cider as i possibly could im now home and ciderless.......and skint!!

yesterday in wilkinson i notice they now stock alot of home brew kit to make your own beer/wine

this got me thinking why not have a bash at making my own cider weve got a good few apple trees and ended up with 6 carrier bags full of apples last year most of which got wasted after we all got fed up of apple pie

a quick google reserch on cider brewing and to me it doesnt seem that hard, i can even cut corners on the crushing by just using a kitchen blender but still going to have to speand a little on the right glass jars with airlocks and some minor chemicals

so what have i got to loose :mrgreen:

I've just bottled up a gallon of plum wine, a gallon of apple wine, a gallon of mead, and a gallon of tropical fruit juice wine :D

If you can keep yer mits off it for 6 months or more while it's maturing you can get a good brew. My wines came out between 14 and 18% using champagne yeast.

Plenty of books and websites on the subject :)
