Lukey48screamer Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Are quaife Atb's any good... its sounds great with what it does but does it really work all that well as an Lsd? i.e givin' it sum slide!
ban1216 Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 ATB from what i have been told is a better diff if you want your car to go around corners on rails (ie on track) If you want to slide you need a plate type lsd as they lock up more easily hence get you sliding easier I have the plate type and it is the best thing i ever bought
Lukey48screamer Posted July 25, 2008 Author Report Posted July 25, 2008 What one did you get and how much did it set u back? Does it work with your existing diff ratio like I believe the Atb does? Cheers pal
ban1216 Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 I got a plate type lsd in a complete axle with a 4.4 ratio when you purchase a lsd kit you will need to get somebody to assemble it into your diff casing so yes it will run with whatever ratio you have now wether you get atb or plate type Atb has no wearing parts and will last longer without maintenance but the plate type will need some servicing occasionally (new friction plates) The grin factor is well worth it atb is slightly cheaper at about 450 but a plate type is about 500 notesnew I paid 500 for mine in an axle
