speedydaveb Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Well this is the first Ford forum I have posted on, up till now it has mainly been subaru sites (my daily run around). You have some nice cars in the club, we saw a selection of them at silverstone today at Ford Fair, the mk3 'tina with cossie engine caught my eye for one! I've had five escorts and still have a mk1 mex replica and a mk2 with flat-front X-pack and 4-link kit. Both cars were partially restored then we bought a house, got married, bought another house, had a daughter, etc. so the escorts have been put on a back burner and I haven't touched them for the last ten years. Both are stored outside, one the mk2 is exposed to the elements the mk1 is under a tarpaulin so they are both in a sorry state. I still want to get them both returned to their former glory and are hoping to get our garage extended to double width and get one of them stripped down and restored properly. Going to Ford events just makes me want to get an escort back on the road, they are just so much more fun than 4WD! Loved that white mk1 van also that was going sideways around farm every lap!

Really want to get the welder out and start cracking, just wondering what the neighbours would say if I brought it around here and worked on it on the drive (garage is too small)... Now if I can just get the upstairs toilet plumbed back in (it's been missing for over a year - don't worry we have one downstairs, it's just a bit of a trek in the middle of the night!) my missus might allow me a little time to work on one of my many other 'projects'!
