Some years ago, by a mere coincidence, my brother and I turned on the TV and they showed a british movie. It was about a guy called bimbo who got the idea, that he could earn money by selling burgers from an old transit. The transit did'nt have an engine and they towed it after a jelly mould. We laughed so much, and has often talked about seeing it again, and this time right from the start. Perhaps it was was called - The van - but we are not sure. Does someone recognize this description and perhaps know more about this movie

Would it be 'The Van'? Set in Ireland? The guy who plays Chief O'Brien in Star Trek starred in it.

They must have done the publicity stills first, cos in a lot of the pics there is a CF yet in the film it's a mk2 transit. Or maybe the owner/supplier of the CF didn't want it shoved off a cliff so they had to source another van.

your right its the van

The third installment of Irish author Roddy Doyle's 'Barrytown Trilogy' depicts the hilarious yet poignant adventures of Bimbo. Upon being fired from his job at the bakery, Bimbo and his best mate go into business for themselves and purchase a chipper (a fish and chips van); but will the pressures of financial success sour their friendship forever?
