MK2 1300 GHIA HELP

hi all im new on here and im after some help, i have a mk2 1300 ghia with standard x flow engine,the problem im having is its breathing heavy out of the oil filler cap,i have checked and cleaned out the breather on the crankcase,changed the stem seals,had a compression check which was ok and still it does it,has anyone on here ever had this problem please help any info would be great

i know mate its doing my head in,the worst thing is it starts first time and drives fine ,but puffing like a train out off filler cap

i have no idea about how to solve your problem but maybe a good service might help? maybe it has the wrong oil in it?

myn did this on my pinto, and it waz moistier in the oil?

try an oil + filter change , then run it for about 30mins, see what the does.

might solve it???

ok mate will do,ill try anything now as i just want it sorting out

someone also said it could be the head gasket but its not losing any water ,could this do it as well

do you have water in the oil and oil in the water?

 

if so thats headgasket problems for definate!

no it doesnt look like theres any.

its not unusual for high millage x/flow to do that but it could also be a number of other things: to much oil so the crank is splashing though it, wrong grade of oil x/flow should have 20/50 oil,head gasket dosnt have to have let water in to oil or vice versa for it to be gone, as its possible from it to go straight onto an oil way, unlikly but possible that the engine is overheating and causing the oil to vaperise
