X FLOW EDDY Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I have a lotus cortina steel wheel that has had the wheel nut holes badley damaged by gross overtighting of the wheel nuts. Can anything be done to repair it or is it scrap
Gonzo Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 I imagine a decent engineering company could weld em up and re-machine em for you if you asked.
V8ian Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 as its the greatest area of stress on the wheel, I would be against welding it, It could be down to the wrong wheel nuts as well, I have bought Lotuswheels in the past which were fitted to a Hillman, these have radiused seats as normal, which do not work on the Lotus Taper seat, and kill the wheel seats very quickly,'
