350moggy Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 I have seen a few threads on the forum for people wanting good painters and as I have just had my capri repainted by a friend of mine and he has done a cracking job (I think it looks awesome) I did my own prep work obviously that keeps the cost down! He painted it in 2k paint then 2k laquer so the finish will be excellent for a good while. He lives in Spalding Lincolnshire. I drove my car up to him and we disassembled it together, then I left it with him for a couple of weeks and I went back and helped to re assemble it . Obviously if your car is a bare rolling shell or sorn then you wont be able to drive it to him but he has a recovery truck so if your not on the other side of the planet then your pride and joy could be picked up and returned too you all nice and shiny. I dont know if I am allowed to post detail (advertise) on here so let me know if you need contact details and I'll pm you
Trevmk3 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 how much did he paint it for if you dont mind me asking car looks nice
350moggy Posted November 30, 2006 Author Report Posted November 30, 2006 It cost me 650 mate ! for that he did all the final prep (ie rubbing down ready for primer ) Primed it with 2 pack primer Flatted primer ready for paint Painted the 2 pack orange Masked the orange Painted the 2 pack black Flatted the whole car again ready for laquer laquered the whole car again in 2 pack Flatted the laquer and then polished it till it was very shiny. Bit of a bargain I thought !

350moggy Posted December 1, 2006 Author Report Posted December 1, 2006 Was that Mate's Rates or what like? I have just spoken to him and I did get a discount but I had a word and anyone who is a member of OSF will get the same discount How does that grab ya Obviously the prices may vary slightly depending on how good the prep work that has been done is. He is very genuine and very competitively priced If anyone wants a quote then you can pm me and I'll pass on his details
