Ive been looking around at this system but whwn you buy the kit for zetec it does not come with a coil pack or anythink, how do you connect this to the ignition side and plugs etc, have too but it extra?

To be honest i wouldnt buy alpha gear cos if you ever want to re map it it has to go to a weber alpha dealer as they are the only ones who can program it, better off with an Omex or Mbe system which you can buy software and coms lead to remap yourself

Yeah but look at the price of them, really cant afford them. the other option is make your own megasquirt?

Also why do they sell the mapping discs for alpha then?

But if you dont feel confident in mapping yourself, then the alpha is a cracking system. Works out of the box.

 

Tom, a standard zetec coilpack from any zetec car will do the job. they are about a fiver on ebay.

 

Weber alpha loom plugs into it, and the plug leads go from the coilpack to the plugs
