msd ignitions

hi i have an msd ignition system on my mk3 zodiac. which i did not fit or buy for the car as it was fitted when we brought the car! now the car is now not running and the msd looks like its running through the old points system does this sound right as i have not got a clue and need the car for work in the morning there is an intermitten spark at the points but i am at a loss with what to do with it apart from petrol and matches

is the wire at the points the white wire m8?

try this for a spark, have you changed the points and condensor ?

Or you can just go on the msd web site and they have all of the wiring

 

diagrams and trouble shooting on there for nothing .

try new points first and condenser ,check for loose connections ,

and that the coil leads are fine ,also check battery life is good

how do you know the spark is intermitent ie how did you test it
