Im thinking of taking out a traders policy for a couple of my motors, and im always changing cars etc, but was wondering what the deal is with it all?

What does it cover you for?

What cars can you use?

Any restrictions/drawbacks at all?

Cheers!

We dont deal with MotorTrader policies where i work, but from passed experience: You need to be a MotorTrader, there can be restrictions on usage and levels of cover...and no agreed values.

We can, on the other hand look at doing a specialist classic car multi vehicle policy, we cover mods, salvage retention and we do agreed values.

ask to speak to me Greg on 0121 749 8950 or PM me a contact number and a time convenient for me to call.

Good shout Greg, I have saved your number, what if i needed to add a car or two, then take one off again a month or two later when I got bored of it

Hello Mighty Sprocket, your request wouldnt be a problem providing your are not using the policy for buying and selling of cars for a living...

For instance if we placed you on a specialist policy, but advised the insurer of 6 changes of vehicle within the year they would more than likely question the purpose of the policy...also id like to point out that charges are made for any ammendments to a policy, so could be an expensive exercise if multiple changes are made in a 12 month period of cover.

i basically have to insure 5 cars, and i must be paying out nearly 2k a year in total. Although the 3dr is on agreed value.....

i have a pug 406 estate, which is costing me £400 a year on 3rd party.

a jeep cherokee which isnt insured yet, but they want £500 3rd party only off of me, which is a joke.

my 2 mk1's cost me about £400 in total

and my 3dr £600.

now, the 3dr can stay as it is, but the other 4 would be good if they could all go on one policy to save me money.

I wouldn't be using it as a trader, for instance I am now looking to buy another car to use over the Winter which would probably be gone by Spring, then do the same again in September next year and so on, all the time insuring my Escort and my misses's Mini Cooper, and I am looking to buy another project/driver in the summer

Classic Multi vehicles are not a problem, providing they are not your major form of transport. If you are looking to insure a runaround whilst your pride and joy is garaged for the winter, it wouldnt be a vehicle suitable for our specialist classic scheme. However we would be more than happy to provide you with a quotation on your Escort as this would be your secondary vehicle.

Thanks
