NeilT Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Whats the pro's and what are the con's over the old skool carbed heads??
TwoLitrePinto Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 Unleaded better flowed bout 15bhp more due to the flowing, thats just the head, im guessing if u kept the EFI system it would be better on juice also. done think there are any cons, other than be careful when u bolt a carby manifold to it as i hear u need to line the ports up i think
NeilT Posted December 13, 2008 Author Report Posted December 13, 2008 sweet cheers m8 ill be binning the EFI in favor of carb's so what problems might i have there? are the cams ect the same or more inprotantly do the same performance cams work with the efi head?
bortaf Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 EFi head is basicly a stage 1 head as it flows better, cams are identical ect, the ports are egg shapped and on a carb gasket the seal is very thin at the top so use a smear of sealer there just to make sure I recon the heads worth 5-10 BHP (carb 104 BHP, Efi 115 BHP). The EFi system doesn't like wild cams as it causes flow reversions in the inlet runners from the plenahm to the head but if your running a carb use what ever cam a carb runs with
NeilT Posted December 13, 2008 Author Report Posted December 13, 2008 excelent stuff cheers for all the info
