BudgieV8 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Anyone know where this is now? Escort 1100 van TTD 856H I sold it to a bloke in CHESTER-LE-STREET in County Durham (near Newcastle) in 2001. Think his name was John Robson. Would like to buy it back please.
Posse Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 http://www.touchlancaster.com/business/list/bid/1816414 ps there is one on ebay and ive seen it cheap.
BudgieV8 Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 Cheers 'Boss'. Think I've mislead you with the pic, I bought it from Speights in Lancaster as a one-owner parts runner back in 1999, & sold it on to a bloke up north. - Have placed bids on the white one & blue one, will see how it goes
bob wiggins Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 this van was in classic van and pickup mag 4 years ago man had it for sale in Driftbridge near Epson Surrey along with a mk1 V6 Transit ,went to look at the escort and it was hanging, it must have had 15 patches in the cab floor area and the tow bar was welded on but was still signwritten the same as your picture
bob wiggins Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 my mate bought the transit it had a 3.1 with triple carbs
BudgieV8 Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 Small world..... ....This'll be said Transit (& I'll be said man from Driftbridge!) Wish it did have the Triples on, it was scary enough with the 3.1 + auto trans! I believe it was sold onto a bloke who runs the 'Megamanta' site who sprayed it satin black then e-bayed it about 2(?) years ago. I bought the Escyvan from Speights in '99 & used it until '01. At the time you came to view I was having to sell everything due to moving out of the place I was living in, so the Escyvan was up for sale as an MOT failure as I had no time/money to do the work. Were you the guys who came over in the Well Cool Corty Mk3 Convertible?
bob wiggins Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 no i came to look at the van in white diesel fiesta my mate who bought the tranny was the big bloke and he did sell it on to nik with the mega manta car i remember you were selling up now how you doing mate

BudgieV8 Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 Cheers Antz: did that check earlier, so it still exists! bob wiggins: not too bad mate! Cant remember your mates name - but wont forget the man himself - top bloke with a cool laid-back attitude! - did speak to him at Brooklands & once when I bumped into him in Horley though.
mk1mexico Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 That Transit is soooo Carnforth is 20 mins away from me ooop north
BudgieV8 Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 Small world again - I used to live in Carlisle, & deliver Coca Cola to places in Lancaster/Carnforth/Barrow/Ulverston/Kendal & The Lakes! Funnily enough, I got the Transit from a place in Liverpool. Had been laid up back in the '80's & forgotten about. I put an ad on the 'PreLoved' site & got a reply. Bought & moved the van to a mates in Preston where we replaced the 3.0 engine with a South African 3.1V6 (factory, not bored-out) & slapped on some 3" sidepipes from Custom Chrome. Very Scary-Fast down the M6 . Even better when you sit at Traffic Lights & let the wheels slowly turn without moving the van - scares the s**t out of the n*va t*ss*rs!
