antz Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 You will all remember my problems with getting some banded steel wheels and DHL losing one. Then the marvellous Retroglam resprayed them for me and Ive been waiting for 'a mate' to change my tyres onto them since October. Anyway I got fed up and was recommended a garage in Malton who is dead careful, stupidly cheap and one of those great 'just turn up and well do it for you' places. I only fitted one to the smallest wheel arch to check clearance and as the car is off for its engine soon itll be on the ramps, off the ramps, wheels on, wheels off etc repeatedly so im Keeping safe until its home. I had to check them out though In the car on the way home: Fitted (still on the jack though) Sat on its own weight: Its a tad close! So might have to grind a tad off
antz Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 thansk people! couldnt get a far off pic cos it was sat in the garage and wouldnt start if i pushed it out id never get it back in on my own! might have to push it out tomorow and try all four on just to see what it looks like
Deano1351 Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Nice one antz they look cant wait to see it out in the open
cjay2004 Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 these are myn 7.5j ghia/sport rims & no rubby rubby !
antz Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 mine are only 6.25! ill have a play tomorow and fit another one to get a decent pic
antz Posted January 24, 2009 Author Report Posted January 24, 2009 very different, very cheers mate! i want it to look standard as poss. I already had some ghia steels which had been turned round (no they arent mex wheels!) but i wanted to go wider so banded steels were my chosen option I still had the original ghia wheels that came with the car from new so had them banded...so i can say it still sit on its original wheels my dad has just informed me that we own a grinder....score
vibrating_Cake Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 just fold the arch lip up and have done with it
davreeve Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 They look the biz as said its better to get the arches rolled rather than grinding bits out.
