greenfordpop Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 I moved my Astra (97) round the back of my house to finish put a stereo in it from Sunday. I ran a wire to the battery and must of undone the nut which the alarm is connected to, but not completely disconected it (i heard it arc a little). When i went to start my car the battery was flat and the job only took 30 mins tops. I put the battery charger on for 30 mins or so just enought to start it (which it did) and left her running for further 15 mins or so. Now it starts ok. My question is, can touching the alarm drain the battery that quick or was it soldering a live wire together could do it? Can`t wait untill the warmer weather so i can drive a real car again greenfordpop AKA Barry
