X-pack-Glyn Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I feel i can air my opinions on this as it happened a while ago now and i with the person to remain a-nonny-mouse. Said person has a quality osf, shit loads done to it, propper sweet, and a car that gets used daily which is what counts... they were all set to do a photo shoot and shock horror spotted a rust hole in the wing and all got cancelled... WTF??? who gives a fook about a rust hole or a bit of scabby paint? my cars half primer and has had shit loads of cash ploughed into it, i love it and so do many others... its cars like thas that seem to get missed a feature...why...because they havent got shiny paint and straight panels... please give us propper old skool street driven fords, because times are changing and it aint about pretty paint anymore!
Smudger105e Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Not sure that's usually an issue. When mine was photographed in late 2007, (it was in the May 2008 issue), there was (and still is) a tear in the passengers side seat. Not a big tear, but can be seen when the passengers' door is open. The photographer told me it would be photo shopped out if necessary...

Lardy Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 thats true why photo shop a car it should be seen in all its glory bad bit an all,I have to say that is what puts me off even putting my car forward as a feature car(not that it would make it as one but I love my car)even though there have been pics of my car in quite a few mags only little ones mind but everyone knows what that feeling is like sorry ive gone off topic;I have actually said before that cars should be shown as they are every mag digitally alters the pics sometimes very badly leave them as they should be then people wouldnt be scared to put their cars forward just because a panel does not fit properly or a rust bubble has appeared......KEEP IT REAL!!!
SmokeEm Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Got to agree Glyn - I see both sides of the argument but I think 1 'snotter' feature per issue would be great! - We could even do a double feature with you n Gary

caprinerd Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Got to agree Glyn - I see both sides of the argument but I think 1 'snotter' feature per issue would be great! - We could even do a double feature with you n Gary same as lads mines home built and far from show condition but its driven every day and thats the sort of ting i like to see and hear in mags bring on a few show cars but keep it real by bringing in the every day hacks as well payed as they are built
Morley Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 It's always a difficult one... Some people want to see real cars with no rust and others will see a car in the mag and wonder why on earth that was in there... As I'm always saying, you can't please everyone all of the time. On the flip side, I cant remember ever asking for any photoshop work to be done to take rust out, if I have, it will be because the owner of the car has asked for it to be done. I am all for keeping it real, our track day car is far from concours but it does a job. That said... We would like anyone with an old Ford that is a daily driver (or at least used and abused a lot) to get in touch with us. Email me at bmorley@unity-media.com or snail mail to the usual address. It doesn't matter what condition it's in, as long as it's used
Chris! Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 ohhhh i have a mk5 cortina that i use daily
Stu_B Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 My car has a shithot engine & running gear... and a shit paintjob
DAZZA Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 My car has a shithot engine & running gear... and a shit paintjob My car looks shit, but only compared to usual cover cars I suppose. Well said Glyn, I have to agree, I for one am drawn to readers rides with more interest than any 6 page feature! I hear what your sayin Ben, but I like many peple would never put mine forward as there are to mant top dollar cars that would stay at the top of the list! What about a dedicated issue "Real Street Cars", low buck every day motors!
jamesg Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 febs issue featured a satin black anglia esta-van, a daily runner. cant get more real life than that!
CrazyCharlie Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 do any of you read the mag did you actually look at my estavan its not the cleanest, the engine bay is a bit of a mess its rattle canned satin matt black and its my daily runner and it was featured in febs issue WINNER
vibrating_Cake Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 you could feature mine.... mines the meaning of daily driver, on a weekly basis i manage to clock up over 150miles in the capper.... and still it gets used properly! i'd love to do a photoshoot of my car... i wont clean out the interior at all, loads of rubbish in there, spare parts (just in case) a torque wrench and a few tools, lots of paper hanging around and a spare jacket in the boot, just incase it gets very cold! that would make a PROPPER car feature! (anyone noticed all the pics in the mags of the cars dont show cd's cassettes wires, random junk like an electric shaver, ice scrapers, etc are all taken out for a mag shoot?) why??? keep it real :d:d hehehe
DAZZA Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 do any of you read the mag did you actually look at my estavan its not the cleanest, the engine bay is a bit of a mess its rattle canned satin matt black and its my daily runner and it was featured in febs issue WINNER sure did, would be nice to see a few more, thats all. And that goes for both mags.
