  8. I know what you mean that was like giving camilla (our next queen) a nice pair of jubblies she will still look ugly and so will that escort

  11. retro ford bought a green left hooker to the brooklands meet was nice to see ,out of the heritaqge collection i think but one scary bit was the sticker on the dash saying that you can start it whilst it is in drive (it was an auto) now that could be a change the pants momenmt
  12. so long as they at least touch on his very short stint in the 4 wheel drive capri ill read it
  13. but its also what makes the scene interesting as regards the differing stories if you owned a twin cam then i am sure you would like to know all the history about that type of car if you like v8 capris the basil green story is fantastic same as broadspeed etc i love it any way but dont get me wrong, as if i have no interest in a subject then i probably find it as boring as you but i am sure someone loves it thats why its a ford mag and not called retro escort because it has to be diverse everyione has their likes and dislikes i see no place for fiestas in these mags but im sure there are loads of people who would shoot me down.......was that a rant im not even drunk
  14. if we didnt have the drivers from 200 years ago then your escort/capri/cortina would be no different to a moris marina or princess so a little recognition and history about the racing fords is very much appreciated by me anyway
  15. Went and saw the new Harry potter film and I was told not to say too much but I have to say if you are a fan you will NOT be disappointed
  16. i dont quite understand the bit about putting in a modern engine it does not increase your licence as the car will still be a classic wont it?
  17. was thinking of putting electronic ignition in my car but will stick with points then when the sun frazzles all the electronics in modern cars ill just whizz on by with my points and condenser
  18. jesus that took me three reads before i got it but i am very tired
  19. i think you are better off getting a cab from heathrow to reading where you can get your train to carrot crunching land you would probably be home by 3 then maybe earlier
  20. you would think that someone at haynes would know what car is what when the mk1 t shirt came out it said it was a mk2 now they have a mk1 t shirt with a bloody hatch back mk2 on the front good job that the people who design the shirts dont do the books otherwise i would open the book to sort out the gear box and it would say its front wheel drive rant over its just that you do expect alittle bit better from haynes
  21. surrey rolling road near to you i think
  22. I went this one last year in my capri some nice motors about would be good if some more OSF turned up as there were a lot of flat cap MG owners looking down their nose at other cars
  23. was at the show in battlesbridge when an old fella came and asked me what to look out for so started to show him the areas to lok out for when da da da massive bit of rust on the rear drivers arch how i never noticed when washing and polishing the car is beyond me as its really quite bad so looks like a trip to the body shop is in order.......when funds allow
  24. the classic ford show does a good effort I think
  25. which one was it, sounds like the bognor one to me i worked there for a week when i was 20 and have to say that the staff are even worse than the guests they actually used to have a clap bus turn up onced a month to sort out the staff and no! never paid it a visit
