emu Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 I had a Brooklands interior on flea-bay which was won by a fella in france . Didnt bother me too much as his feedback looked alright and his purchase history(yeah, im a nosey git ) included a fair few other big items from the UK including a car and engines. I sent him the invoice to which he appeared to send a reply asking if he could pay by paypal. If not then could I send him my bank account details so he could transfer the money and my address for picking up the seats( Yeah, ok mate, have my cash card too ). I replied saying that if he wanted then I can send him a paypal invoice. But I havent heard anything since. Noticed today that the originating email address ends in .BE, but the e-mail address on e-bay (and buyer location) is France?????? Not sure what to do now.......any suggestions??
quickrack Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 No suggestions other than def keep your details to yourself. Just in case.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 He should be able to find your address anyway, as you've completed a transaction with each other. But if he's coming to collect them, he should be able to bring cash...!
emu Posted December 9, 2006 Author Report Posted December 9, 2006 He should be able to find your address anyway, as you've completed a transaction with each other. But if he's coming to collect them, he should be able to bring cash...! Thats what I thought, it just seems odd that I havent heard anything else from him. I'd be sorting it all out to pay and collect if it was me.
Cookie Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 No suggestions other than def keep your details to yourself. Just in case. Makes absoulutly no odds giving out your account number and sort code, just think about it, all these details are on a cheque anyway, and everyone gives these out like sweets, just having these details wont get you very far tring to screw someone over.
Cookie Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Oh and if you feel a bit unsure of this bloke, make sure if he pays by paypal you transfer the money straight out of paypal incase he's a dodgy c*nt and re-claims it as soon as he gets bits
emu Posted December 9, 2006 Author Report Posted December 9, 2006 Ive been told to do that, but thank you for the advise What do I do if the buyer doesnt get in contact? Ive sent him a number of e-mails and e-bay messages. Im new to flea-baying and this isnt looking like a good start
Smudger105e Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 E-mail him once more and warn him that if you hear nothing from him within 48 hours you will give him negative feedback and relist the items... As no money has changed hands, not much else you can do...
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 May have a ligit reason for not getting in touch, like pc blown up. I once had a doris who bought something from me, and asked for my contact details. Sent them. Then a couple of days later asked for them again. Sent them again. Then she said 'I've bought the r/c car off you for my son as it's his birthday soon. If you don't send them to me I'll buy the same car off someone else cheaper', so i sent her an email saying 'I know you're receiving these messages because we're sending them via ebay', and I also wrote her a letter with my details on saying the same, recorded delivery. I think she'd bought this car off me, then seen someone else selling it cheaper, so bought it off them, and then pretended me emails weren't getting though.
Smudger105e Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 I have had a couple of probs with ebay recently. I bought an X box off some guy, he emailed me to say he had just set up his paypal account and it needed verifying. He emailed me a few days later saying it was sorted and I should have the X box in a couple of days. Nothing for 2 weeks and no replied to e-mails, eventually had to claim my money back through the complaints procedure. Still fifteen quid out of pocket though So last week I tried to buy another X box, and the money has gone from my paypal account , but has not been accepted her end, no e-mails at all from her (presume its a her with a name like karan). Think I'm gonna have to get that money back too... And these are the first negatives I have had to give in over 3 years... Anyone wanna sell me their X-box?
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Have a read of this about a guy selling PS3s and having his paypal account suspended because he's a high risk, after 7 years of blemish free transactions: http://web.tampabay.rr.com/miahzshiznit ... l-Dispute/
Smudger105e Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 I'll read it when I get home at about 3am!! I get the web blocker banning me from reading web hosting sites when I am at work...
1uk3m4n Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 if its an old xbox your after i have one laying around here never been used lol
emu Posted December 10, 2006 Author Report Posted December 10, 2006 May have a ligit reason for not getting in touch, like pc blown up. Turns out that he can only get to a computer on sunday and mondays! He has paid the money into my paypal account. So I guess we are on our way again. teaches me not to be impatient I suppose. Thank you all for your advise
