Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 i watched a documentry last night where richard hammond was inteviewing evel knievel he was a flaming idiot, i was one of those kids in the 70s who though he was great and had a evel knievel chopper, but he hardly ever actually made any of his jumps, he just kept recovering from his falls and broken bones then trying somthing even more outragous, he cant have been right in the head. he was also always causing trouble and fighting and went to prison once for beating some one up while two of his mates held the victim down he made most of his money from the toys that sold, but then a few years hes was bankrupt. he died in november 2007

Sometimes its best not to learn to much about them we admire bursts the bubble a bit when you find out its all a mask and there really not to nice at all.
stevepeanut Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 I watched that documentary when it was first on last year I think. He came across as a very angry disturbed man. Its no wonder he crashed so many times, he used road based harleys for the jumps that had very little suspension travel. So when he lands, it just bounces and throws him off. Look at his son, Robbie Kinevel, he used full on motocross bikes with huge suspension that soak up the big landings
