MightySprocket Posted March 19, 2009 Author Report Posted March 19, 2009 if you were driving around towns......mini's (proper mini...not bmw ) will win every time and if your outside of town....escort will win.............but the mini will still give you the run for your money esp if fitted with 16v lmao I dissagree, it was lets say it was a spririted urban drive it is a quick mini, 1380 on a single 40! and the blue smoke before gear changes suggests to me he was trying hard... bear in mind I have moaned about my 4.1:1 final drive on this occassion it paid off as I thought I might break my cibies pushing him out of the way Something that has surprised me about the escort is its handling, in the dry its rock solid with no signs of under/oversteer... it just grips and turns and accelerates through corners like my old scooby no bull! I had a chat with the my young mini driving neighbour last night and his first workd were "what the fook have you got in that? 2 litre?" As for the 16v statement, if I had a 16v YB in mine once again I think he would have been slightly embarrassed I wish I could keep the escort the way it is as its fookin good fun but i plan to do longer journeys, and thats when the fun turns to the onset of certain madness and potentially the death of my beloved crossflow
