Retro-gone. Posted March 21, 2009 Author Report Posted March 21, 2009 obviously a pre-unit but what model and year? looks like 650 bonnevile? is that an uncle bunt frame or custom fasteners?
PlopPlop Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 I thought it was a unit it dosn't have a seperate box, The bikes a 1966 Trophy but from what I can tell its a 72 tr6 engine, I don't know about the frame I'm not too clued up on these things I bought it like it is as an unfinished project and its my first bike (apart from the odd crosser) how can I tell what frame it is?
Retro-gone. Posted March 21, 2009 Author Report Posted March 21, 2009 sorry youre right , it isnt a pre unit, dunno what to suggest bout the engine, id prob go for a complete running motor .

PlopPlop Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Cheers anyway Tony, when I'm better I think I'll just concentrate on the Pop first, so it'll be a while, so I'll just have to keep an eye open, was tempted to paint it carbon black to match the 100e what do ya think? both 60s
caprinerd Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 ah the gt memories i had the 380 that was before i got the rd350lc out of the 2 i think the gt will always have a place in me took it to hell and back some muppet opened a door on me and wrote the gt off when i got out of hospital the gt had already gone so didnt get to see how bad she was
Retro-gone. Posted March 21, 2009 Author Report Posted March 21, 2009 doesnt have to be a triumph engine, you can slot a nice 70's 500cc jap twin engine in there, or a 650 yam twin.

I know what ya mean mate but it wont be what I'm after, I like the traditional Brit chops but you can still build good choppers with Jap engines.
