5hane Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Heres what my dads been working on for the last month (had the car since justr before Xmas though) It started off when my dads mate cam up to him saying he had got an escort - which he wanted 'pop' a pinto in and banger/drift it round arena essex. So my dad explained its no that easy.. need all the sump rspickup pipe etc. So the said bugger it and GAVE the car to my dad ! Started out with no front pannel or wings - and a bright red interior. But 99% of the rest was all solid- just one or two tiny bits of rust in the usal areas wings + rails and front pannel on - -£120 fitted. So then the wealder (who also sprays cars) said it was too good to just be "rattle can'd" so he did a deal at £560 so, so far -£680 Primer paint painted behind the grille a few weeks ago's work : the Rebuild brown interior mates 4 door - gettign lowered not bad for £680 start to now so now shes at hame, me dads making (watch this space ) some quarter bumbers and were sorting all the other little bits. Ive also shoe polished the roof - which now looks MINT and black - not grey hahah The problem - what engine to go with? 1. 2.0i pinto - 130 bhp? maby trurbo? (180-200 bhp) 2. Xe on bike carbs with kent cams - we have the engine and 90% of the bits - just need bike carbs (can get sets cheap) ignition really. 220-240bhp? thanks, any comments for my dad
