  6. I had another look through my back collection and found it (although I had to get out the ones from under the bed!) - it was in Feb 2007. RS2kSX - I saw you tonight going through letchworth towards Baldock with a black mk2 behind you!
  7. I have been going through my old issues of the mag trying to find the article I was after, but I haven't been able to find it, so wondered if anyone could tell me which issue it was? It was a Black Mk2 RS2000 which I think was being used as a daily driver, and was owned by a guy called Kieran. I have a feeling it may have been stolen at somepoint later. In it, it went through a good step by step if I remember correctly... Thanks,
  8. when I was a kid the south london look was more like on blocks in the front garden..
  9. thanks for the replies - at least i've got a rough idea of costs now. i've got a few places to try round here, so i'll see how I get on.
  10. wow - that's a bit of a change - nice work the equiv would take me about 5 years...
  11. I've officially got sick of removing rust with a wire brush, and repainting, as it takes forever...then accidentally chipping it, so no more!! normally when you hear about people getting it done, they say it's not that much, but depends on what you get done... I got a quote from a place local to me, who said £70 to blast/powdercoat an anti-roll bar + brackets which seemed kinda steep. but i'm not sure what I should be paying?

    osf

that's where i used to live as a kid - i used to walk past a mint mk1 rs2000 every day on my way to school...
  13. same, i feel your pain! then bought a standard anglia estate and learnt how to really drive think it was the 1.5 non turbo. on the out of town part of my test I didn't even manage to hit 60 in it. lessons were about £18 a go when I was doing them. although first experience of driving was at 14, when my dad gave me they keys to his old fiesta, pointed me at the field, pushed it down to get me to bump start it, then let me get on with it!
  14. I was in kinda a similar position when I got my Cortina back from storage - I couldn't afford to run it/do what it needed. Eg at the time, I could only afford one thing a month, so for example, had to save to buy a new battery, service bits the next month, etc...
  15. diesel corsa - horrible thing!

  18. less than 3 - always feels like there is something missing...
  19. you do hear some weird things! Footman james just told me they don't insure BMW's on classic policies for any under 30
  20. I've gotta admit i've been finding the same thing on quotes i've got my e30 - classic/limited mileage policies don't work out much cheaper than a standard policy. Lancaster seem to come out lowest from all the ones i've tried. Use that as your starting point then phone them up with the quote, and see what kinda deal they will really give you...
