Retro-gone. Posted May 14, 2009 Author Report Posted May 14, 2009 thanks everyone for youre support, i went into work this morning but was told i can go home while they sort out my owed money, cant see me getting much redundancy money as ive only been there 3 years, but instead of working my notice i can take a cash settlement, me and debs sat talking for hours last night and came to a decision, im gonna take some time out and do a bit of ducking and diving and get a feel for whats out there, in the meantime im gonna offer resto work , ie motorcycle resprays, pinto engine rebuild/refurbs , alloy poilishing etc..
Stu_B Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Sorry to hear that mate & good luck with your new venture
FredTransit Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Sorry to hear your news retro, hope you get something soon. In the meantime your plan of doing something yourself is a good one. If somebody won't give you a job, give yourself one, er if you know what I mean....
antz Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Tony, as I said in my text Im so sorry to hear whats happened. The job you did on my wheels when spraying them with rattle cans was fantastic. I doubt many people in this area could do better with a proper spray gun. You have one hell of a knack for spraying:
caprinerd Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 tony mate use the skill you have as i said earlier mate you should get a months pay for every year you were there aint much i know but its better than nitto mate good luck tony

Retro-gone. Posted May 14, 2009 Author Report Posted May 14, 2009 well ive just been told to qualify for 3 years redundancy pay i have to work a weeks notice, gonna seem really weird
missymoo 181 Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 every cloud has a silver lining, you will probably find there is alot more around than you realise if you can fix and do up bikes/cars. We do classic car restoration and we have never been so busy, there is definately money about. Good luck with it
Savvi Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Really sorry to have to be reading this Tony. I think you will find that it may well be a blessing in the future, i went self employed about 6 years ago and although it's not as good as it was with the skills and knowledge you have, you will make money Claim what you can off the Goverment until you get on your feet, i'm back to doing a bit of buying and selling, mechanical and electrical work and anything else to make a few quid and i'm sure you will be able to do the same. My only regret is i didn't go on my own sooner, you have no one to answer to if a bargain comes up you can go get it etc etc. Good Luck
