bonnet pins

hi guys

 

car is going into paint on the 19th june so im having to get the final bits sorted

 

so before the car go's i am having the bonnet vented

 

and want to fit bonnet pins and do away with the bonnet cable

 

so need a little help anyone near wickford in essex done this ?

 

do i remove the bonnet spring thing

 

pics please would be a help

i have pins and thats it, i removed the spring system as well as the catch system would advise keeping the hook though as it always good to have a back up of some sort

i still have the spring and the safety catch but took the cable and the catch that holds it locked off

Same for me. Did run it for a while without the spring but found the hood a bit bouncy. The spring holds it firmly in place now.

my dad has a fibreglass bonnet on his mk1 so just uses the bonnet pins to hold it down.
