nope the bubbles are all clear and its because there is a large group of clear bubbles together and they reflect the light so they look white because you are looking at them in white light ... if you have a red filter infront of your light source they will look red ...

If there were no sponges in the sea then it would be shallower because when they are submerged sponges actually displace water, not soak it up
