its home ! despite being stored with the handbrake off the rear brakes seem quite seized , all four tyres were flat and i forgot to take a pump so i literally had to pick up the back of the car and walk it out of the garage it was in ! in doing so i have bent the rear bumper somewhat but the car really does seem to be about as rust free as ive ever seen a mk3 capri. there is a dent on the passenger side door and rear 1/4 so it will need some paint but all in all it seems solid and pretty straight. 2 previous owners last one since 1991 and been in a garage and not moved since 1998 35k genuine miles !

Hi Guys, its been 6 years since I last had a capri on the road and I am picking up my new one hopefully on Friday ! no pics yet but some of you might recognise the username if i post up pics of my old car. had a little scout around this morning and i recognise quite a few names that are still regularly posting! that was my capri back in the day my first car and i miss it ! be nice to do it again but with more income and ability to make a nicer car (it wont be going matt black)

hi guys, ive been away for a while ... but my dad gave me a call yesterday to say he had found a mk1 escort 4 door in a scrap yard in france that looked complete and clean with one slightly rusty arch , strut tops not been welded and still mint and started up first turn of the key so obviously been in regular use till recently. given the french attitude towards cars i doubt if a car from a scrappy would be expensive over there its by no means a specialist classic breakers. is it worth finding out a price for ? how much should i consider paying ? and from what ive read it doesnt seem to be particularly hard to convert to rhd. steering rack and column , servo and servo reinforcing plates , clutch cable, dash top and some mentioon of a loom and fusebox but im not sure ..

i have used wonga.com whilst i dont owe anyone any money and have no overdraft i was relatively skint at the time waiting for a paycheck on the friday but something came up that i didnt want to miss out on so i borrowed the money for it from them and had to pay back an extra £4 or something like tht 3 days later

if its a sailsbury axle is that the same as the ones found on landrovers ? and could you fit an air locking diff ? ???

just because its newer doesnt mean its more reliable i would look at vws ... i just bought a mk2 golf gti as a daily while i look for a capri again the 8v gti was and is a fantastically reliable car and older cars have the advantage that if it does break you can fix it yourself cheaply

or if you think quickly tell the copper youve broken down open the bonnet and dissconect something so when you try and turn it over it wont start then you get away with it even if you only stopped there to be cheeky and use the cash point

if the badge number on the ticket doesnt exist fight it all the way to court

im usually on about 4 or 5 forums at the same time flciking from one to the next dont post loads on many but always checking out people progress and looking for new ideas

actually the police have 6 months to pass the case over to the courts they can take a fair bit longer to give you a summons

driving fast late at night in a not built up area away from the general public .. illegal but not really harmfull glueing nails to the road in said area to stop "street racers" is akin to vigilante "justice" which is also illegal and imho a much worse and scarier thing then a little bit of speeding and in this case it has resulted in the death of one man and paralysis of another who is commiting the worse crime ? what goes through your head to make you do that ... what if an ambulance in a hurry had used the same route to avoid traffic conjestion and rolled killing the crew and patient ? whoever did is is a) stupid guilty of manslaughter c) a discracefull human being my thoughts go out to the fdamilys of those involved

Well it's been 2 years since I had an old ford and I haven't really been on here or to any shows, I got myself a nice little 6 month driving ban but lets not go into that lol. I was running quotes for when I get my licence back and the cheapest i could insure my e30 was £2000 ... out of curiosity i put the reg number of my old capri in... £648 ... there's a no brainer then. on the lookout for a 2.0 capri again in the up to £1500 bracket seen a nice red one on here but i've still got 3 months to go and haven't sold the e30 yet. just thought id re introduce myself and say hello to some of the peeps i knew already.

well i just got a 6 month driving ban so was forced back into cycling to work and back 24 miles a day not fun. but alot of stuff is getting done round the house now tht im not psending the time on my car
