had my escort taken to the local rolling road today after i bolted on the 40's

 

the before figure is 63 bhp at the wheels

 

so what will it make once its jetted and had the timing adjusted?

 

its a lightened and balanced 1340 xflow with 234 cam, ported head ashley system and manifold and a pair of weber 40's

 

im secretly hoping for 80 at the wheels

17bhp is quite a jump if you're head still can't flow more air than it did before with the old carb.

 

I'm going to opt for a more cautious 70 at the wheels whilst keeping my fingers crossed you get your desired 80.

 

Edit: Just reread your post and noticed your head is already ported, maybe your 80 figure is realistic after all.

i know im being optomistic but hey, my mates all think im mad being excited over a measly 80 bhp

 

oh well should get a call tomorrow saying its ready, i cant wait

well i just got my car back and its running a very nice, 76.2 bhp

 

im overjoyed, although it isnt quite right so needs to go back at some point as it does bog down and hesitate a bit but its still damn cool, lol

 

so it seems im all but ready for cfs
