Stu_B Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 drums are shit mate - I had a mini on 10" wheels with drums, really bad fade! One day I braked too hard the line split, dual circuit innit so opposite drums locked, spun me through a hedge, rolled and wrote off a mint car!!

But i got a new master cylinder now and discs and calipers, fitted new lines and waiting for a cylinder for my new 9" drums. Then put them all together, fit second seat, front and rear window seals and its ready for shakedown(i hope).

Wessie Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 2 years and mine will be done front suspension and steering all on by the end of january
105Nick Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 I was imagining drums would be terrible, in fact from what I read in all the mags I was expecting the Anglia to be terrible, you know wheezy 997 and drum brakes etc, but it's been great, apart from the last eight years being owned by someone who just used it and didn't maintain it the cars been well sweet and once set up is great for round the lanes and cruising. I only had one scary moment when some dumb bitch pulled out in front of me, so that's stayin stock. Can't wait to get the engine in and sort the bodywork, then the steering suspension will be reconditioned as it's a bit wobbly, but that could be down to the wheels and tyres currently fitted. Wouldnt trust it with any upgraded engine though. The Escort has a neat suspension set up with capri stuff, EBC pads and Goodridge lines, had to buy new calipers from Tickover cos the muppets who owned it had fitted different sized calipers to each side.
