cortinasgoneforaburton Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 hi there and let me introduce myself, Paul T from manchester, i have several oldskoolfords, they are a mk1 & 2 granada, a mk5 cortina with a 2.0 burton engine(which went bang at cfs 09) 2 mk5 2dr cortinas (projects) and a mk2 transit pick up. I cant help my self yhey are all off ebay, except 1 of the 2 drs. Anyway after spending a small fortune on the 2.0 cortina i was a little disheartened when it developed a serious misfire after my go down the strip, she drove home ok, and after visits to 2 local garages it was decided that the head would have to come off. My girlfriends dad however wasnt convinced so armed with a rag to cover each air trumpet, (as its got twin 40s on it) revved the hell out of it, covered in petrol up to elbows, he then calmly took a drag of his cig which had been in mouth all the time and said "sorted i am off to the pub" and with that off he went. car is fixed, no explosions or 3rd degree burns and no bill wot a guy.
