stevepeanut Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 just wondering what the score is, how much they cost, and what they cover I got my capri on a policy, my 2 bikes on another policy, and my pick up on another policy. Bit of a pain sometimes. Be nice to have cover for anything, ideal if a bargain comes up and you want to just go get it.
Savvi Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I have one for my business, i used to be with Tradex but changed when i got the workshop. Mine would not cover bikes unless i paid double in which case it wasn't worth it that was a few years ago and was costing me around £600 fully comp for up to 8 vehicles, drive anyone elses car etc.. I believe they need some type of proof that your a trader now.
oddball Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 just wondering what the score is, how much they cost, and what they cover I got my capri on a policy, my 2 bikes on another policy, and my pick up on another policy. We used to have a traders policy a couple of years ago covered all our vehicles plus anything we drove upto the value of £25,000 plus public liability and it was around £1500 a year. Also had to be a registered company to get it You would probably be better with a multi vehicle policy, which a lot of insurance companies are now doing
stevepeanut Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 Might be better staying as I am Capri is £240 fully comp Truck is £220 FC Bikes, both of them come in at under £300FC but will be less when I renew as I dont have the expensive italian aprilia Bikes are so much easier, I can have upto 5 bikes on my policy, and its nothing special, just a regular bike policy
Smudger105e Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Bro in Law has one with Footman James, dunno the cost though He's not a registered Company either...
andy a Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I've got a part time trade policy, unlimited private vehicles and obviously unlimited stock, think its up to £25k per car, fully compis just over £600 a year now, although its a £250 excess and £1000 excess on transporters with no glass cover... The insurance companies are wising up to people using them as a multiple car policy and will ask for proof of sales if you have to claim, I had a claim last year and had to show them my last 3 months sales, the bloke taking the details said they will check at random through DVLA to make sure its all legit and he knew of a couple of dodgy traders who hadn't been paid out because they couldn't submit their books or verify their trade status with the tax office, still, if all the traders had to declare everything it would be a level playing field for a change
lee_capri Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 i have a trader's policey £480 for the year you can have what ever you like on it hopw many you want has well,at one time i had 15 motor's on it,but i cant have any scuby's
