ever get the feeling someone above is looking after you

I was getting the bike ready for a week away touring next week. I had new forks seals fitted so had the front end in bits. I put it all back together and took it up the road for 2 mins, but it didnt feel right. Brought it back home and the front tyre had a slow puncture. Went to remove the wheel, and noticed I hadnt tigthened the 4 brake caliper bolts up, they were put in half way by hand and almost ready to fall out.

 

Thing is, if I hadnt got the puncture, I would have got on the bike on Saturday and rode off for the weeks holiday. Makes me think, have I got some sort of guardian angel looking out for me?

 

Anyone else believe things like that?

u should realy check what ever work uve done specaily brakes side sound liek mum but its a gud habit to get in and yes i do belive that some one is looking out for me

I normally work like this

 

tighten everything just nipped up

torque everything to correct amount

then go over each nut and double check its been done

 

I guess its tiredness off working a 10 hour day and then doing a couple of hours in the garage afterwords. I really need to be more carefull

On a bike, you need EVERYONE to be looking out for ya. someone on a bicycle was killed near my work the other week - squashed under a lorries wheels I heard ...claret EVERYWHERE

I think you might be right there. Another time last year, I had just plugged in my angle grinder in the garage, but when I pressed the start button, the fuse blew. On the way to change the fuse, I noticed I'd left an empty container of fuel. I moved that, and fitted the fuse. Put the angle grinder on and started cutting, the shower of sparks went about 6 foot, and were landing right where the open fuel can was.

 

I think I must deffo have a guardian angel
