Mr Sam Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 arrived to catch the tail end of Rotorstock and the HKS semi's then HKS finals, not my thing but entertaining to watch and some serious big power rice burners about cold wet night but up fresh and early, great to meet some new faces on the OSF stand and catch up with some old faces i havent seen in a while i also gave in, signed on and ragged the fook out the poor old fez 19.6 in full trim i.e tyres at road pressure, rear seats, spare wheel.....and managed to get down to a 19.1 after sorting out my traction issues torque steering towards the wall on the line no fun thanks to Ian for lending me tools and Jo for taking the pics while i was racing Tail end of Rotorstock (Sat evning) damn skylines swamped me!! rotory powered escort sounded lovely!! this would of been so much quicker if the guy learnt how to change gear still ran a 12 snaking off the line ansd about a second between gears very nice supra!! good 1000+ horses in that (it was a big power supra that really got me into drag racing, then i saw the light that you only need a little old pushrod on carbs to have fun ) supra had running issues then suddenly hit boost at the 8th lost all grip and almost pranged it the Rex that usually lifts both wheels had broken 1st gear so was launching in 2nd but still managed to hit a 10 last one, 9 second liner! just look at that squat though Retro Show, Sunday been 2 years since i was on track with a mk1 first run i was literally on the line shaking all over with adrenaline blown mk2, had a quick chat with him, says he needs to adjust the ladder bars and get some slicks Big G, good to see you again mate oh ARSE!!!!! Caprinerd Driver warming the rubber up and launching, unfortunatly still having running issues cossie chevette thats for sale and a couple of the sh*tbox racing lot i can prodly say i was sat on the OSF stand and probably the quickest 1.1 fezza of the day and a huge congrats to Ian (Driver) despite his running issues he won his class for the day and got awarded a nice trophy on the line by the voice of snata pod and a slight bit of bad news for the day was Mick Rodgers, crossed the line smokeing at 120mph and rolled it several times didnt see it happen but alot of us heard it, thankfully by the sounds of it he was straight out the car so hope he's okay and the bleeding fezza!! just coming out of Poddington Village it blows coolant all over the windscreen for no reason at all , thank fook it didnt happen on track
