michael_200 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 what struts are the best to put in a mark one to convert it to discs is it just early cortina ones and capri? trying to get this project started, also pondering over engines.. it currently has a 1.3 x-flow might keep this for a bit but for future want it to be a fast road/ rally spec, without spending an absolute fortune what would be better a 1600 x-flow bored out withs cams etc or a 2l pinto with the same sort of work work? i know its a bit vague but what are the typical sort of 0-60s on these.. or other words whats going to be more fun?
Andrade Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 i am assuming its a mark 1 escort? I have an anglia but managed to fit escort mk2 disc struts onto a mk1 escort crossmember no problem. the TCA bolts on straight and the steering tierod needs to be replaced with one that fits the mk1 crossmember and mk2 seating place
michael_200 Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 yea its an escort.. just tryin to work out what bits i need to find and the easiest way to get it done.
jamesmk1 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 to convert it to discs your best bet is to use a pair of legs from a capri or a later mk1 or a mk2 escort. as for engine both a x-flow and pinto can be fun on the road, but personally i would go for a pinto
