My first memory of being aware of cars is being on holiday in cornwall, and at the beach the carpark seemed to be full of bright colured Mk1 RS Escorts. Influenced by Hot Car magazine and early HOT ROD magazine, my car tendancies started leaning towards Rods, and my young mind thought VW Beetles looked like old 40's U.S cars, and Vdubs were cheap, so at 15 I got a 53 Beetle which I decided was to rusty and had scrapped, it would be a 'great barn find' today! Moved on to a 54 beetle, which I still have, and a string of other vdubs,. Having had a couple magazine featured, i sold one to buy my 'ultimate' car, a 1940 Ford Deluxe Tudor Sedan. It will be a hotrod, 348 ci V8, 5 speed manual box, Halibrand Quick Change rear and Halibrand wheels, adventually. For now it will be basically stock but lowered with fenderskirts, kind of a mild 50's kustom look. I have a long wish list of cars I'd like to own, unfortunatly most of them are now out of my price range, MK1 RS being one of them, but it will be good to drop in here now and then and see whats happening.
