kevthompson79 Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Sorry....another question from me!!!!!! I've got a 38DGAS Weber on my mk2, I'm now looking for a set of 'choke butterflies' for it..... its a bugger to keep started until warm!! Anyone know of somewhere I can get a pair of these???? I've tried Burtons and had no joy!!!
wonderfulweasel Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 I'd have thought finding a damaged one and removing the parts you need would be your best bet. An internet auction site or other supplier of used parts may turn something up.
Messenjah Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 are you sure you need new butterflies ? seems a little odd its more then likely the auto choke playing up as they are notoriously bad see if you can find the manual choke bits to convert it or bin it all together ... running with no choke is fine aslong as you get it a little warm before you drive off or you will stall it at the first roundabout / junction and if its a real bitch till warm i would also check your ignition timing and condition of your plugs ht leads and dizzy cap etc
bigdaz27 Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 ive got no choke butterflies on my 38dgas never had any problems even in the winter
caprinerd Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 is the mouth the same size as the 26/32
kevthompson79 Posted September 24, 2009 Author Report Posted September 24, 2009 The mouth is slightly bigger than on the 26/32... I had a good look at things today....turns out my No.2 lead is knackered!!!! That'll be the stalling problem sorted now! Brought a service kit for the 38 the other day, gave it a good clean and seems to be running perfect again!!
