GT_lenny Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I was considering the pinto route for the cortina, but when i looked at the costs invoved to get around 150bhp i decided to go down the zetec route instead, obviosly theres the expense of the initial conversion bt you'll get 150bhp with a set of bike carbs (mine cost £40)

Joe-ashtonmobile Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 But define a 'stage 3', one engine company could have a stage 3 which is stage 2 at a different company...all a bit misleading really All you want is a killer head skimmed for more compression/decent cam and dirty great carbs and use a cheapo bottom end and if it blows up just replace the bottom end Ok ok buy a engine which has 160hp+ That will cost more then 1000pound though Noooo My uncle had 1 for 900 pounds but it was a few years ago...need to look around i guess. That was years ago, u wont get a 160hp engine for a grand, remember he will need carbs aswell
evil knievel Posted October 9, 2009 Author Report Posted October 9, 2009 Hmm i'll have to wait a few more years and save up. Thanks guys but I think i've been put off the pinto route!
