  1. Hi all! For sale is my beloved MK4 Escort Van. 1.8d, in great condition for the age. I stopped using it a while ago when a car became essential! Here's the run down: 1 Years MOT No Tax Rear tyres brand new Front tyres nearly new (all Firestones) S2 RS Wheels Recaro seats (pretty sure they are xr3i) 6x9 speakers fitted behind seats CD player Ply lined Has had new steering rack, exhaust, lights, various suspension components, basically everything it needed! Unfortunately the speedo stopped working last year, it stopped at 109k but I'd estimate that to be closer to 115k now. It was resprayed blue by the previous owner although there are some signs of rust creeping through. Overall it is on fantastic condition for the age, a bit of damage to the front but nothing major. I'd say it'd be a lovely project, great shell and would go like stink with a Zetec in it!! I always kept it diesel as I used it as a workhorse for my band! It literally never let me down. £1000 with the Recaros, would consider selling those separately. I'm in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Telephone 07817 039022
  2. In urgent need of a 1.8d tank strap for my G reg Escort van! After a bit of a tank/floor collision on the way back from Winchester it's now held up with a ratchet strap... Any one that can help please drop me a line on 07817 039 022. I'm in Uckfield, East Sussex. Thanks, Simon.
  3. It got too expensive for me, and life got in the way! Becoming a career mechanic took away a lot of the joy of working on the cars too. My first post here in a long, long time. It's changed a lot!
  4. They are crap! The usual thing with the power steering pumps is that they just keep running, even with the engine off. Before you know it the bloody things on fire! This what happened to yours? They are a nightmare to work on. Subframe down to do lower arm rear bushes. Is there any need for all that the round ones?!??
  5. 2 clues to it being RWD. 1) You can just about see the diff casing... 2) Mud splats all over the rear quarter
  6. Sounds like condensor to me. Or perhaps fuel lines getting blocked further up. Can't be anything to serious, there's not a lot to go wrong!
  7. I'm guitar and vocals! Can also play drums and a bit of piano.
  8. nuff said The new Transit's are the the round ones as far as I'm concerned. Comfortable, powerful, economical. The FWD is a bit annoying in the snow as obviously the back is loaded, but how often does that happen? The gearboxes tend to be noisy on them just by their very nature, but if you are used to the older transit's this wouldn't be a problem. I've not worked on the RWD ones but the FWD Transits certainly don't take a day to do the brakes! Although I must admit, the comfort and quality of van's is very good at the moment. Although the Transporter seems costly, the Vivaro doesn't have the best reputation, and the Sprinter can sometimes be "too big" depending on what you used it for. (I did auto-locksmithing in the tranny, just the right height for most car parks!) But the one thing a transit will give you above all else, that sacred symbol, the blue oval!
  9. Even when I'm horrendously ill I feel an enormous sense of guilt!

I could probably get you a decent price, where are you?
  15. I am into my mk4 escorts, not such an orion fan admittedly, but I would never pay any where near that for this! I don't see why MK4 prices are going through the roof. It seems the sellers are looking at the OSF's and whapping the price right up, but the buyers haven't quite caught on yet?? They certainly haven't got the vintage of an old Cortina or Capri, and I will openly admit that, but I still think they are cool as hell!
  16. Sweet but dog legs are cabby wheels, rst's are much cooler... here's my van sitting on a set..
  17. Respect Not keen on the wheels though, would look better on s2 rst's in my opinion! but then again its not my car! I bet she flies
  18. I'll be showing my "plastic" van it is also my 20th birthday on the 6th so might be a bit worse for wear!
