has does any one make and stick to ther deadlines ive set a challange of getting the mk2 done for classic ford next year thers an awullfull lot to do and parts i still need for mock up so i set a time of 5 months to get the body sorted and 3 months to build it i know its cutting it close but ive broken it down into smaller chunks rather than looking at the car as a whole hopfully meaning illl get somwhere

You will be surprised just how long the building takes. Arseing around with brakelines and wires seems to take an eternity. Plus it is extremely boring so I lose interest.

I like the welding bit, then the filler stuff does my head in again and usually takes a few attempts before I'm happy with it.

As for deadlines, I can usually do it in time, but not too bothered these days. I have built up a collection of cars and have no need to rush the current one. I am seriously thinking of selling the lot and starting again. (probably won't though) That way I would have to get on with it. :D

mine will be done when its done. Dont cut corners or rush as u will neva be happy then.

well said its good to set a target as it keeps you motavated but dont cut corners you will never be entirly happy with it as you will know the not quite right bits

as above making a deadline is ok but if it dont happen dont make it the end of the world. last time i put my car together was for cf 06 and the harder i tried to get it redy the more it kicked me in the teeth. ive set a deadline for wheels day next year for it this time but im in a nice workshop that can be used 24/7 if need be not waiting for a dry day to work on the driveway

cuttuing cornors is about as far away from me as you can get lol my mates hate me when weve done restos in the past as eveything has to be right or as close as can be lol you only look at it later and think 5 minits her would have sorted that

but i have a habbit of being a lazy bastard at times excuse my french  so by setting dead lines i feel i might actully feel pushed to get it done agreed filler work does my head in but the wiring and mechanal side i feel quite peacefull one of those jobs to be left alone on and take ya time . cheers lads
