Daveyboy20 Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Cortina only be gettin 50 miles out of a tenner? Im sure the capri was better and it had a 2.1. Cant afford to run it at the mo let alone sodding buy new bumpers!
flyingbanana Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 you have to take rough with the smooth......my 1.6 dont get 50miles for £10 but who cares ......its fun driving it
Daveyboy20 Posted December 30, 2006 Author Report Posted December 30, 2006 Im sure the capri was better. Feels like i may as well floor it coz it uses the same amount of fuel whether i do or not! ah well. Least i like it so i can half justyify it. Be easier if i wasnt a student tho! not long left...
flyingbanana Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 make sure the timming/carb/cables are set up right makes alot of difference
Daveyboy20 Posted December 30, 2006 Author Report Posted December 30, 2006 Yeah ill have a play in the next coupe of weeks. Its had a twinchoke put on which was apparetnly 'set up for 1.6' so it might be that.
flyingbanana Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 i have twin chokes on my 1.6 i ended up stripping them and replacing bits in side from a kit i got, and i do have a book that gives the whole strip down rebuild for all weber carbs so if you want a pdf of it when i get my scanner re connecetd up again, cand send you a copy of it if you wish, just pm your email and ill send it
deluxe Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 depends on the overall gearing as well if you are driving faster than 30 mhp now and then Guess your capri has a five speed and a 3.44 rear end and your tina a 3.9 and a four speed
