turbo-mike Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Right a friend rang me the other day asking if I was interested in a 280 that was for sale for £1800 mmmm. Well we mailed them straight away and got this reply. I am emailing you regarding the 1987 Ford Capri 280> Brooklands that we have for sale.> > The car is in excellent condition, with 92k miles mainly> motorway, non-smoker, never been involved in any crash, no> scratches, everything works as it should. > The full service history is available, MOT June 2010/ Tax> until Apr 2010. The car is currently located in Cardiff and> the price that we are asking for this car is £1870.> > > We have recently relocated to Dublin where my husband got> his temporary job transfer. > We will be staying here for the next year and> therefore we need to make some financial arrangements..so> we've decided that the Ford must go.> > A few days ago a person told us that she is very interested> in purchasing so my husband had to fly back to UK to close> the deal. Since we trusted his word, my husband came all the> way to Cardiff the next day and met that person but> the guy turned up with £200 less than the asking price...> the problem is not about the money that my husband spent for> the plane tickets.. but he lost 2 working days for nothing.> > > Time is very precious for us as we are involved in> some major events right now and don't have too much time> at our disposal; we are a serious family and this person> really disappointed us..> > Since we've been disappointed once, this time we want> to make sure that you are seriously interested in buying> this car before we meet and my husband will fly to UK only> if we have an assurance of your intentions. Of course it> will be no problem if you decide not to buy the car. But we> want to be sure that you will be there to meet my husband> and handle the deal in a civilised manner.> > > If you are still seriously interested in going further with> the deal let us know.> > Cheers,> Lisa and Scott Evans> > P.S. Here are some pictures of the car . Just click> on the weblink below:> http://s939.photobucket.com/albums/ad234/fordcapri280/> Well that is worth £4-6k any day so we maild back again but as we all know if it sounds to good it usaly is well this is next reply and i dont just smell a fish I smell a whole trawlerjust getting back from a haul. As for the financial part, best way of getting us assured> of both, buyer's serious intentions and availability of> money and also a good way for you to reserve the car is to> have £1870 transferred into your name via MoneyGram. > > All you have to do is find a MG office in your town and ask> a friend or your spouse to go there to make the transfer.> He/she will have to send the money into your name, with> Cardiff as receiver location. > When the transfer is done you will send us a photo/scan of> the payment receipt as proof of your payment.> > > This way we will be sure that you will actually come and my> husband will fly to meet you within the next couple of days.> You will test-drive the car and if you decide to buy it you> will go together with my husband at a Money Gram office in> Cardiff, you will pick up your money, then we will take care> of all the paperwork to transfer the ownership into your> name.> > If everything goes well, my husband will be able to fly to> UK within the next 2 days. > > As you can see we are not asking you to send any money in> advance to us. You will be the receiver of the funds and> only you will be able to pick up the money from MoneyGram,> only in Cardiff/UK.> > > We believe our business proposal is reasonable for both of> us. > So, let us know your intentions.> > Regards,> Lisa and Scott> > Right the cars reg is E349 VOV which is a proper 280 but is it thers dose anyone on hear know it, mike
