Sorry for late reply pal, headlamps aren't matching, one is a Cibie and other is Hella? I think.. Cheers.

If anybody is still interested in any bits off this, I still have: All chrome, door handles, mirrors, bumpers etc. All glass All window regs All lights Engine bay ancillaries Etc etc. Let me know, will be on eBay soon, cheers.
-
I've got a lad coming tonight who might be having the bumpers, if not I'll let you know. Like I say, I'm not interested in charging the earth for bits, but if I can get a little back and help with a few restorations along the way, then I'm happy, and it makes racing not so much of a crime

I only picked it up yesterday, not had chance to get it running yet, will probably get it running tomorrow then I can check operation of clocks, gearbox etc. Unsure whether it's the same as an Escort as I haven't owned one, but I will get it running tomorrow and check operation. Cheers, Steve.

Hello all, breaking a mk4 Cortina, 2.0 Ghia Auto in gold. I will be racing the car so just trying to get a little back and hopefully help a few people out with bits. Anyway, a rough description off memory of what's available: Seats are knackered, but rest of interior is half alright I think, dash is good, clocks with rev counter, has rear seat belts fitted. All glass is good. Very good chrome wing mirrors, chrome door handles and window trims etc. Bumpers I think are good metal wise, but the plastic bump strip things aren't brilliant. I think all chrome on the car is good. All of the lights are there and look good, has round rear fog lamp thing, grill is good, and little Ghia badges? In the engine bay, basically everything can go except the block, head, manifolds, carb and dizzy. Auto box is for sale (not tested yet but will get car running and test before removing), and all little bits like washer bottle, nice air box, heater box, wiper motor, engine ancillaries, wiring loom? Can sell bonnet and bootlid too but will need your old ones to replace. Bonnet look very good with very minor surface rust just starting underneath, but only just taking paint off.. And bootlid is good too I think. Basically everything can go except running gear and main engine. If there's anything I have forgotten to mention then please just ask and I'll have a good look at it and see what condition it's in. Collection on everything is preferred, although I can post smaller stuff if you need me to. Located in Blackpool. Cheers, Steve.

Adding other 80's Fords to Old Skool Ford, please vote
Ste-V replied to Vista's topic in UNREGISTERED
Even though I do like 80s stuff, keep the site as is. I do like mk2 Fiestas (just sold one recently), early Orions and mk3 Escorts, and it would be nice to see a few decent ones, but the change would bring a lot of chavved up crap with it. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. -
Thanks for that, not going to bother with them!

Thats great news, one of my border collies was spooked by a gun shot on the sand dunes at Blackpool two years ago, spent about 3 months searching every area of Blackpool and about £600 on advertising, posters, local paper etc but we have never seen her since Lucky man

..the little hairy strip thing that runs around the sunroof on a mk3 Capri (visible when looking at roof from outside car)? My Capri is at the body shop freshly painted but he can't refit the sunroof until I get one of these weather strip/seal things, any ideas? There's some on eBay but I'm unsure of they're right or not.. Thanks in advance, Steve. EDIT: Not to worry, the items on eBay are correct I think. Thanks anyway!

The Capri is coming back from the painters in the next week or two, after being there since for just shy of two years! So will be busy cleaning, painting, buying and refitting bits over the winter, and decide what lump to go for hopefully in time for CFS 2013. And I need to strip all the surface rust back on the Fiesta and prime it before it gets bad.. That's in between working, foreigners, sorting the horse, fixing the garage roof, walking the dog, sleeping........ Does anyone else struggle to find the time to think about their cars let alone play with them?!
-
That'll do, cheers for the replies

Thanks for the reply, how come? Price or quality? Any other suggestions then anyone other than eBay? Thanks

Hello all, I need new front and rear windscreen seals for my mk3 Capri. I have the name of a company on the tip of my tongue who sells them but I can't for the life of me remember, any ideas anyone? Thanks, Steve.

Advertising my car for sale outside my house - illegal???
Ste-V replied to caprian280's topic in CHIT CHAT
I'm a mechanic, and now and again one of my customers cars will come up cheap so I'll buy it, tidy it up and sell it on. The only time I have ever had a problem was I was selling my mum's car about 12 months ago. I parked the car close to my garage, on the main road, with two signs in. A few hours later I had a phone call, from somebody from the council, saying I had to move the car within 48 hours. When I got to the car I found a notice under the windscreen wiper explaining that it can cause a hazard/distraction to passing motorists, and I have 48 hours to move it or it will be towed away. I think, as mentioned above, the reason they jumped on it was because there was about 7 or 8 vehicles on a small stretch of road (approx 150 mtrs) for sale. It won't stop me selling the odd car, if I get another notice I'll just shift it again, but I wouldnt worry about it if I was you. As long as it is parked safely and road legal, then sod em. Tip. Use fluorescent card and put the price in big clear writing. Many people won't bother stopping if there's no visible price, as it's usually overpriced. Hope that helps! Steve. -

Car of the day for me had to be KJ's escort, never saw it up close but watching it go down the strip was fantastic, especially knowing its an OSF
-
Got it bad on my legs, had to have afternoon off work today as its like third degree burns.. Well worth it though, some gorgeous cars there, 9 second Escort - nice, even picked up some cheap as chips poly bushes, well happy, cracking weekend. Roll on next year!

Mk2 Granada - What are they like to live with?
Ste-V replied to Ste-V's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
I don't expect them to do 50 to the gallon, just wanted a rough idea to be honest, would be happy if I can get around 20 to the gallon with a type 9.. Just selling an Impreza which Ive been using daily, so Im used to almost single figure mpg! Thanks all! -
Mk2 Granada - What are they like to live with?
Ste-V replied to Ste-V's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Ok thankyou all It was mainly the mpg I was wondering about.. Is that mpg as an auto or manual? Or are they roughly the same? Thanks, Steve. -
Evening all, basically I'm thinking of buying a Mk2 Granada 2.8 Ghia X auto saloon. If I buy it, it will be my daily driver, and will be used for trailering my Mk1 Fiesta rally car about. What I want to know is, what are they like as a daily driver? I've raced a couple but I've never had a road goer, so what are they like on juice? Are they 'driveable/comfy' enough to use as a daily? Obviously Ill waxoyl it to death underneath and keep it clean to try keep the rust away Would probably throw a type 9 in too.. Thanks for any advice in advance
-
A couple of my mates are constantly trying to get me to throw different lumps in my Fiesta, but I adore the Xflow.. I couldn't live without the sound
