Hi,

Has anyone here ever had to use the Samll Claims Court to get money owed to them?

A friend is owed £300 for work they carried out.

Having spoken with the 'owner' (who wouldnt give me her name), they were most unhelpful, saying they can't do anything. The payment is oustanding from September '09.

She woudnt give me any other phone number, no furhter contact details with the chap this person had been dealing with. They said "no, I can't help you any more, i suggest you leave me alone now you've wasted enough of my time with this."

I suggested "would I need to go through the courts to re-claim this money" and they said, yes, by all means.

hmmmf.

So I sent this email:

********,

Acting on behalf of *********, she has requested that I chase outstanding payments, totalling £300.00.

Please can you process this outstanding payment as per the two attached invoices ASAP.

Having spoken with the 'owner' of the business, she has advised me that you are away for the remainder of this week.

I look forward to hearing from you early next week.

I respectfully ask that you reply as soon as is possible, to clarify the situation. If we do not hear from you in the near future we will be forced, reluctantly, to pursue these outstanding payments through the small claims court.

Kind regards,

*********.

I'm worried they're having financial problems. Causing delays on payments.

Bloody stress, not needed. :( I was most calm on the phone, blunt but calm and they were very unhelpful.

Never donbe but but might have to soon.

According to my solicitor just go on line and fill out the form, costs about £60

Cool, I hope I don't have to go down this route.

Neither do I, I sent a letter recorded delivery giving 14 days to return my stuff a week has passed since it was signed for and nothing heard back.

But have been told that some of the stuff was lifted by some very bad men because the son was a naughty boy! Luckily the Mrs is mates with 1 of the lackies so might get a parcel left on the door step :Bravo::Bravo:
