one for the welders

hi everyone,

I am trying to fit an escort manifold and exhaust to a mk2 cortina and I need to extend the main part of the exhaust a bit, I've found some tube that fits nicely over but its stainless, can I weld it to mild steel and do I need special gas and wire?

i have welded stainless and mind steel together before with no probs some time performance back boxes are mild steel with stainless tailpipes and they are ok

hi im a welder fabricator by trade yes for wot you wont to do it will be fine it only becomes a prob when under stress it is likely to crack just keep a check of it now and again it shoul be fine
